Description

Further information on the places visited:

Blue Grotto
The Blue Grotto is the most famous natural wonder of Capri, visited every year by thousands of tourists. It extends for about 60 meters in length and 25 in width, but the entrance is very low, less than a meter: to enter, you have to lie down in a boat. Inside, the water lights up a surreal blue thanks to the light that enters from an underwater crack.
Important: Swimming is prohibited. It is dangerous and illegal.

Punta Carena Lighthouse
Located in the extreme southwest of the island, it dominates the sea from the Limmo peninsula. Built in 1866, it is the second most powerful lighthouse in Italy. The area is also one of the most popular seaside destinations in Capri for its always clean water and the sun until late.

Green Cave
Once called Grotta dei Turchi, it owes its name to the green color of the water created by particular plays of light. It is accessible only by sea. A little further on is the Grotta dei Santi, so called because of the rocks inside that resemble figures in prayer.

Faraglioni
Undisputed symbols of Capri, the Faraglioni are three:

  • Saetta (or di Terra) , the closest to the island
  • Star (or Middle) , with the characteristic hole in the center
  • Scopolo (or Fuori) , habitat of the famous blue lizard
  • There is also a fourth, less known one: the Scoglio del Monacone , so called because of the presence, in the past, of the monk seal.

Wonderful Cave & White Cave
Two of the most fascinating caves on the island. The Grotta Meravigliosa opens several meters above sea level and can be reached via a ladder: inside, stalactites and stalagmites frame the view of the sea. Just below is the Grotta Bianca, recognizable by its white limestone formations and a stalagmite that resembles a Madonna in prayer. Both can only be reached from the sea.
